Woodville residents will be sliding into fun this summer.
Council was recently informed that the village had received a NatureWorks grant of up to $10,496 for a slide at the pool. Council then OK'd covering the rest of the cost of the slide - or up to $12,504 - for a total of $23,000, said Council President Gerald Kepus.
Pool Manager Sam Radel is planning on negotiating with different vendors to get the best price for the slide, and the recreation board will soon present council with several options in its price range.
Mr. Kepus said the slide should be installed sometime this summer.
In other business, council approved the 2005 pool schedule, and fees for pool passes.
The pool, located at Trail Marker Park near the corner of South Cherry and Erie Streets, will open this season from June 3 until Sept. 4.
One- and two-year season passes will be offered, but at a $10 increase from last year.
Before June 8, a one-year family season pass costs $135; a two-year family season pass costs $250; and a single pass costs $80.
After June 8, a one-year family pass is $170; a two-year family pass is $300; and a single pass is $105.
The two-year passes includes two sessions of swimming lessons for the family each year.
