BRYAN - The Williams County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities unanimously chose a former Ottawa County disabilities manager as its next superintendent.

The board on Wednesday hired Charles Biggert, who has been assistant superintendent at the Muskingum County disabilities board in east central Ohio for three years.

He was given a two-year contract, starting Aug. 15, and is to be paid $80,000 a year, board President Sharon Keller said.

Mr. Biggert will oversee a $2.7 million annual budget. He replaces Jerome Manuel, superintendent for several years.
