FINDLAY The Hancock Park District was awarded two grants totaling $17,954 for environmental and parks improvements.

The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation approved the grants, made from the L. Dale Dorney Trust Fund. Both grants will provide matching funds the park district needs to complete other projects.

Bill Miller, chairman of the park district s board of commissioners, said a $12,800 grant will be part of a $22,630 effort with the Hancock Regional Planning Commission and consultants to develop a parks, recreation, and open space plan for Hancock County.

The second grant, for $5,154, will be used to complete $22,854 in funding for restoration and landscaping along watershed properties from Findlay s Riverside Park to the Riverbend-Findlay reservoirs area.
