Wood County to buy 50 more voting machines

12/21/2005

BOWLING GREEN - Wood County commissioners approved the purchase yesterday of 50 more electronic voting machines for the county's board of elections.

Commissioners included the $135,000 cost of the extra machines in the 2005 budget at the request of elections officials, who felt they would likely need more voting machines than the Ohio secretary of state's office initially authorized for Wood County.

The county tried out the touch-screen voting machines in last month's general election. The machines were purchased from Diebold Elections Systems.
