To Port Clinton and back

It s not time to peel the bike off the ceiling of the garage yet, but you can spin some dust off the wheel.

Registration has begun for the 17th annual Reeves Northrup Memorial MS Bike-To-The-Bay. The event is a two-day bike tour, June 24 and 25, from the Lucas County Rec Center in Maumee to Port Clinton. Cyclists can register online for one of four routes (50 miles each day, 75 miles each day, 100 miles each day, or 35 miles and home). Riders are required to raise a minimum of $200 for The National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Last year s tour was scorching hot, but pancakes in Port Clinton, lunch in Pemberville and plenty of support made the Bike-To-The-Bay a great event. There are two other tours in Ohio this summer: The Kroger Brand MS 150 from Wilmington to the University of Dayton (July 8-9), and the Pedal to the Point from Cleveland to Cedar Point (August 19-20).
