ARCHBOLD

Accomplishments of early pioneers will be the focus of a program of family fun and educational activities to be held at 7 p.m. Friday and at 9 a.m. Saturday at Sauder Village.

BOWLING GREEN

The 5th annual Classics on Main car show will run from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday in downtown Bowling Green. More than 200 classic cars, street rods, modifieds, trucks, and historic vehicles will line Main Street. To preregister your vehicle, contact Main Street BG or go to www.downtownbgohio.org.

FINDLAY

The Night Session Big Band Orchestra will perform as part of the Riverside Summer Concert Series at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Allen P. Dudley Memorial Band Shell and Dick Daugherty Plaza at Riverside Park. The Jazz Ambassadors will perform at the same location at 8 p.m. Thursday. The concerts are free.

Register by Thursday for a canoe trip down the Blanchard River that leaves at 10 a.m. and noon Saturday from the Riverside Boathouse concession. The Blanchard River Watershed Partnership and the Hancock Park District are sponsoring the trip to teach residents about the river, its condition, and habitats found along it. Register with the park district.

Learn about nighttime creatures and family activities you can do in the dark during an open house at the "Doc" Phillips Discovery Center at Oakwoods Nature Preserve off County Road 144 west of Findlay from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. For more information, visit on www.hancockparks.com.

FREMONT

"Track & Trail Overnight" is the name of a program for children 12 to 17 set for 6 p.m. Friday to noon Saturday at White Star Log Cabins. Activities include swimming, night hike, owl calling, and survival techniques. Participants are requested to bring a snack to share, bathing suit, towel, sleeping bag, pillow, toothbrush, and toothpaste. Beverages, breakfast, and lunch Saturday will be provided. Registration is required.

Port Clinton Community Band will perform at 7 p.m. Sunday at Birchard Park. The rain date is July 15.

SANDUSKY

The 2006 Cultural Diversity Festival series will continue Saturday with the "Blarney Bash" Irish Festival set for 4 to 9 p.m. at the Sandusky Bay Pavilion, 605 East Water St.

SYLVANIA

The Toledo Astronomical Association will hold its monthly meeting Friday by conducting viewing from 10 p.m. until midnight. The event is free and open to all. Participants are invited to bring their own scopes. Weather permitting, the objects visible will include Jupiter, the moon, the ring nebula in Lyra, and the numerous deep space objects in Sagittarius.

TOLEDO

The Jazz in the Garden concert series kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Toledo Botanical Garden.

Lagrange Street Polish Festival will run Friday through Sunday just north of Toledo's downtown area, featuring Polish food and music.

The Ohio Treasury Office will present the 2006 Women and Money Conference from 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday in the Student Union at the University of Toledo main campus to help women learn more about personal finance. Doors open at 7:30 a.m. Admission is free.

Michael Pratt, director of the Center for Historic and Archaeology at Heidelberg College, Tiffin, will be the keynote speaker at the American Legion Toledo Post 335 luncheon regularly scheduled for noon Friday at the Toledo Club, Madison Avenue and 14th Street. His topic is "'Wade's War' - A Combat Tour with the 'Bloody Hundredth' Bomb Group."
