Hudson Fire Department gets federal safety grant

HUDSON, Mich. The Hudson Fire Department is receiving a special federal grant of $17,442 to help pay for operations and safety programs, U.S. Sens. Debbie Stabenow and Carl Levin, both Michigan Democrats, said.

The department is one of eight in Michigan dividing $638,809 in grant money.

The Troy Fire Department, north of Detroit, received the most, $247,200.

The money is from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security s Office of Grants and Training to help prepare for emergencies and potential acts of terrorism.
