Perrysburg fire division gains $57,018 U.S. grant

Perrysburg s fire division will receive a $57,018 grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security s Office of Grants and Training, according to a news release from U.S. Rep. Paul Gillmor (R., Tiffin).

The grant can be applied toward a variety of expenses, including training; the purchase of firefighting equipment, personal protective equipment, and vehicles, and modifications to stations and facilities.

According to the congressman s office, the award is a competitive grant program intended to enhance the ability of local first responders to protect the health and safety of the public as well as their personnel.

Mr. Gillmor also announced several appearances he is making in northwest Ohio tomorrow, including a stop at Owens-Illinois in Perrysburg to receive the National Association of Manufacturers Excellence Award and a visit to Waterville Primary School to read to second graders.
