Recently released inspection reports of Lucas County food-service operations:

Tim and Ed s Bar and Grill, 719 Bush, inspected Feb. 22. Critical violations: Observed bacon stored with precooked hot dog sauce and ready-to-eat (RTE) items such as cheese. Store all raw animal products below all other food items. Then continue to store raw animal products according to cooking temperatures in both cooler and freezers to prevent cross contamination. Repeat violation. No sanitizing buckets setup in kitchen and a damp cloth on table. No trace of sanitizer in wiping bucket behind bar. During all hours of operation, kitchen and bar area must have wiping buckets with sanitizer of proper concentration setup. Repeat violation, corrected. No datemarking observed of potentially hazardous food (PHF) items such as deli meats, leftovers, hot dogs, chili and any PHF items kept longer than 24 hours after being cooked, prepared, package opened, or seal broken. Repeat violation. Facility must begin datemarking immediately. Seven noncritical violations. Inspector: Kerry Cutcher.

Ducat s Imperial Lanes, 5505 West Central, Sylvania Township, inspected Feb. 21. Critical violation: Chili is not date marked at time of inspection. Refrigerated, RTE, PHF must be date marked once opened and may only be held up to seven days at 41 degrees or less. Five noncritical violations. Inspector: Kelly Sattler.

Kinder Care Learning Center, 2812 North Holland Sylvania, inspected Feb. 20. Critical violation: Vegetable prep sink does not have an air gap connection. An air gap is required on any food prep sink to prevent sewer back-up into the sink. Inspector: Sattler.

Tommy s, 5520 West Central, Sylvania Township, inspected Feb. 21. Critical violations: The walk-in cooler was broken at time inspection and holding an ambient temperature of 50 degrees. Repair immediately. A mop sink must be installed for the proper disposal of used mop water. Observed improper storage order at time of inspection. Store raw meats and chicken below or separate from RTE foods. Wet wiping cloths must be stored in sanitizer solution when not being used. Three noncritical violations. Inspector: Sattler.

Ozone, 1701 Lagrange, inspected Feb. 22. Critical violation: Observed raw steaks above bottled beverages. Store raw animal products on bottom shelves to prevent cross contamination. Inspector: Cutcher.

Love n Learn Child Care, 4440 Secor, inspected Feb. 22. Critical violation; Turkey and ham slices at lunch table at 64 degrees. To prevent the growth of pathogens which could cause a food borne outbreak. Cold PHF must be maintained at 41 degrees or less. Lunch meat replaced. Inspector: Bruce Heiser.

Ottawa Park Ice Rink, 2200 West Bancroft, inspected Feb. 22. Critical violation: Observed leftover RTE foods without date mark. All opened PHF or RTE must be dated to determine discard date once manufacturer s seal is broken. One noncritical violation. Inspector: Ryan Sekinger.

Classic Lounge, 2224 Nebraska, inspected Feb. 23. Critical violations: The coleslaw in the prep top cooler was out of date and should be discarded. Observed spilled juice on the floor of the walk-in cooler. Thoroughly clean and maintain the floor. Four noncritical violations. Inspector: Gillian Wilke.

Route 66, 406 North Westwood, inspected Feb. 23. Critical violations: Provide hand soap and paper towels for bar handsink. Hand sanitizer can not be substituted for washing hands. Corrected. Observed bartender blowing her nose, then handling drinking glasses without washing her hands. After eating, smoking, using restroom, touching any part of the body, including face, and before changing gloves, hands must be washed. Six noncritical violations. Inspector: Wilke.

Elks, lst floor kitchen, 636 Junction, inspected Feb. 23. Critical violation: Observed a container of canned heat stored above food containers. Store all chemicals below and away from food to prevent chemical contamination. Two noncritical violations. Inspector: Wilke.

Maumee River Yacht Club, 2735 Broadway, inspected Feb. 20. Critical violations: Observed faulty sanitizer test strips. Obtain new chlorine test strips. Observed drinking glasses in bar area inside potable ice bin. Do not store anything in potable ice except an ice scoop with handle up. One noncritical violation. Inspector: Mike Brady.

Generations, 1917 West Alexis, inspected Feb. 20. Critical violation: All PHF must be held at proper temperatures. Two noncritical violations. Inspector: Steve Perrine.

El Camino Real, 2500 Sylvania, inspected Feb. 20. Critical violations: Sanitizer in the three-bay sink in back kitchen is not strong enough. Store raw meats below RTE foods in walk-in cooler to prevent potential cross-contamination. Refried beans, from the evening before, at 43-47 degrees in walk-in cooler. Cool PHF from 135-70 degrees in two hours or less, then 70-41 degrees in four hours or less. Beans discarded at time of inspection. Three noncritical violations. Inspector: Debbie Dacquisto.

Restaurant Pacific, 7629 Sylvania, Sylvania Township, inspected Feb. 20. Critical violation: Observed employee rinsing vegetable in the kitchen hand sink. Use the vegetable prep sink for all food preparation. The handsink is for handwashing only. Observed butane fuel stored above food products in the sushi area store all chemicals below food or food contact materials to prevent contamination. Three noncritical violations. Inspector: Jaclyn Kistler.

Byblos, 1050 South Reynolds, inspected Feb. 20. Critical violations: Rice, green beans, creamer and milk not holding at proper temperatures. All PHF must be maintained at proper temperatures. Observed improper cooler of grape leaves in walk-in cooler. PHF must be cooled from 135 to 70 degrees in two hours and then from 70 to 45 degrees in four hours. Practice storing grape leaves in shallow pans. Handsink at the bar was not properly stocked with soap and paper towels. All handsinks must be stocked with soap and paper towels to promote proper handwashing. When not in use, store wet wiping cloths in a bucket with sanitizer of proper concentration. Six noncritical violations. Inspector: Wilke.

Dolly and Joe s, 1045 South Reynolds, inspected Feb. 20. Critical violations: Observed a spray bottle by steam table that was not labeled. Provide labels for all spray bottles indicating the common name of its contents. Observed a wet wiping cloth on the countertop. Store all wet cloths in sanitizer bucket to prevent the growth of bacteria when not in use. Observed ground meat stored above fish and bacon. Store whole cut meats above ground meats to prevent cross contamination. Observed several containers of food that were date labeled then frozen and thawed but the date label was not labeled. When pulling food from the freezer make sure make a new date label subtracting the day it was prepared. All prepared PHF must be labeled with a date if it is held over 24 hours. Fried chicken and lemon juice found at room temperature. All PHF must be held at proper hot or cold temperatures. Nineteen noncritical violations. Inspector: Wilke.

Central Hot Dog, 626 Front, inspected Feb. 20. Critical violations: Observed relish and pickles at room temperature by the window. Label states keep refrigerated after opening. Items must be kept at 41 degrees or lower to prevent bacteria growth. Items must be discarded. Observed pan of potatoes at room temperature while being peeled. Once a full plate of potatoes have been peeled, place in cooler until ready to use. Limit the amount of time PHF is out at room temperature to inhibit bacteria growth. Follow proper cooling procedures. Fourteen noncritical violations. Inspector: Jennifer Gottschalk.

King s Taste, 5211 North Summit, inspected Feb. 21. Critical violation: Soup reheating in hot holding unit. All reheating must be done on direct heat, stove top, oven, etc. to 165 degrees in two hours, then transfer to warmed hot holding unit to hold at 135 degrees or higher. Place soup on stove to reheat to 165 degrees. Seven noncritical violations. Inspector: Gottschalk.

Whitehouse Inn, 10835 Waterville, Whitehouse, inspected Feb. 21. Critical violation: Mouse droppings found in dishroom. Contact pest control for additional aid or verification of removal. Facility must be free of vermin. Nine noncritical violations. Inspector: Sara Becker.

Oregon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 904 Isaac Street, Oregon, inspected Feb. 21. Critical violation: Observed food in two-door cooler without date mark. Properly datemark food and completely remove old date stickers from containers before re-using containers. Two noncritical violations. Inspector: Kelly Ivans.

Cafe Marie, 6819 West Central, Sylvania Township, inspected Feb. 21. Critical violations: Observed food products in work top reach-in cooler holding at improper temperature. Do not use until cooler can maintain proper temperature. Observed personal belonging (including medication) stored above a food prep area.
