A two-hour Stargazer s Cruise in search of falling stars during the Perseid meteor shower will depart from Miller Ferry Catawba Dock at9:45 p.m. Saturday, sponsored by the Gem Beach Lot Owners Association of Catawba Island. $25 per person.

An 11-minute walk with a naturalist who will identify trees will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Harroun Community Park.

The Rotary Club of Toledo will meet at noon today in the Park Inn, 101 North Summit St.

American Legion Toledo Post 335 will go for a tour of the Veterans Home in Sandusky on Friday, departing at noon from the parking lot of the Toledo Club, Madison Avenue and 14th St., by car.

Jake M. Ward of Fraser, Martin & Miller LLC will give a free presentation and take questions on the patent process tomorrow as part of the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library s Ask a Patent Attorney program. The event begins at 7 p.m. inside the Searles Conference Room in the Main Library, 325 Michigan St.

Two-hour Sandpiper public rides are scheduled this week from at 7 p.m. Wednesday, at noon Thursday, and at 10 a.m. Saturday, departing from the Jefferson Street Dock.

The West Toledo Democratic Club will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday in the front hall of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Club, 5050 Jackman Rd. Details of the club s annual dinner, set for Sept. 30, will be discussed.
