Indiana man in critical condition after motorcycle-deer collision

ANTWERP, Ohio An Indiana man was in critical condition this morning after the motorcycle he was riding struck a deer on State Rt. 111, less than a half-mile east of State Rt. 49, in Paulding County yesterday evening, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Rod Kirby, 48, of New Haven, Ind., remained in critical condition this morning at Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind., where he was flown last night, troopers at the patrol s Van Wert post said.

Mr. Kirby, who did not wear a helmet, was westbound about 8 p.m. when the deer entered the road from the north, the release said. The collision threw him from the motorcycle.
