An East Toledo woman was hurt seriously when the car she was driving crashed early Tuesday on Navarre Avenue at the Oregon-Toledo line, authorities said.

Carolina Beltran, 22, of Utah Street, was listed in serious condition in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, a hospital spokesman said.

Ms. Beltran was driving east on Navarre about 2:50 a.m. when she lost control of the car, Oregon police said.

The car then struck a concrete bridge support and a steel frame at the CSX railroad bridge at the Oregon-Toledo line. The impact caused the car to overturn, and then it came to rest on its top, police said.

Ms. Beltran was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and failing to wear a safety belt, officers said.
