Napoleon motel fire causes about $45,000 damage

1/19/2008

NAPOLEON Damage was estimated at $45,000 to the Napoleon Motor Inn, where fire broke out about 6:15 a.m. yesterday.

The motel is at State Rt. 110 and Apian Avenue on Napoleon's southeast side.

Napoleon Fire Chief Robert Bennett said it appears the fire began in an attic area over one of the motel rooms and was electrical in nature.

The room sustained heavy damage, and there was some smoke and water damage in the adjoining units.

One occupant of the single-story, wood-frame motel was checked out at the scene for injuries, but did not require hospitalization, the chief said.
