Detour set for U.S. 24 at State Rts. 15/18

DEFIANCE Traffic on U.S. 24 will be detoured through interchange ramps at State Rts. 15/18 for three nights this week while a bridge over the main road is partially demolished, the Ohio Department of Transportation announced.

Flag crews will direct traffic on U.S. 24 and Routes 15/18 during the work, which is scheduled for 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. each night. Emergency vehicles will be escorted through the area by police if necessary.

The work is scheduled to begin tomorrow evening and be finished on Friday morning, but could take longer if bad weather slows the demolition.

The Routes 15/18 bridge is being rebuilt as part of the Fort to Port Highway project along U.S. 24. Traffic is currently using the bridge s rebuilt southbound half while the northbound half is torn down and replaced.
