ACES, a nonprofit child support advocacy group, seeks volunteers to help with court monitoring, outreach, advocacy, fund-raising, etc. Information: 1-800-738-2237.

ASSE international student exchange programs are looking for volunteers to serve as area representatives to recruit and screen prospective host families, interview students to study abroad, and supervise the visiting exchange students in their community. Bay Park Community Hospital seeks volunteers for the Beacon gift shop and information desk, as well as in the Health Resource Library. Both teen and adult programs are available. Cherry Street Mission Ministries has many opportunities for volunteers including: administrators, cooks, food prep workers, wait staff, educators, nature lovers to tend the gardens, mentors and Bible study leaders, volunteers with a valid driver s license for pick-ups and deliveries, and groups to organize fund-raisers and community drives for food, clothing, and hygiene products. Cocoon Shelter Volunteer Advocacy Training, 50-hour class that prepares volunteers to attend to the needs of victims of domestic violence by providing crisis intervention and conducting intakes into safe shelter. Due to procedural restructuring, applications from women and men are being accepted for volunteer advocates. Information: 419-373-1730.

Crisis Response Team needs committed volunteers to be trained as responders or dispatchers to provide short-term crisis intervention to victims of domestic violence. Shifts available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Must be available to work a six-hour shift at least one day per month. Volunteers must pass a criminal background check. Information: 419-213-4715.

Family House emergency shelter for temporarily homeless families needs volunteers for reception desk or library, to tutor, plan children s activities. Information: 419-242-5505.

Foster Grandparent program is looking for senior volunteers to help in schools, day care facilities, Head Start programs, and other non-profit community organizations. Volunteers receive a tax-free stipend for their work and reimbursement for their travel expenses. Training is provided monthly and social activities for the foster grandparents are planned throughout the year.
