Notre Dame assistant Gene Cross is the new Toledo head coach. Announcement expected Friday.

Former Providence coach Tim Welsh is no longer a candidate for the UT job after withdrawing his name from interest. He realized the job wasn t for him after his campus visit. I think changing so quickly from the Big East to the MAC is not something he is interested in.

So. Gene Cross. Greg Gard. Brad Soderberg. Maybe on Friday.
