2 hurt in Hancock County crash

ARCADIA, Ohio A Bloomdale, Ohio, man and a Fostoria woman were hurt in a fiery two-car crash early Thursday at Hancock County Road 23 and Washington Township Road 214 near this community, the county sheriff s office said.

Kevin Tarr, 47, who was driving a 1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, was taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital, where his condition was not available as of 10 a.m.

Brooke Brickner, 28, who was driving a 1999 Ford Taurus, was transported to Fostoria Community Hospital, where her condition was also unavailable.

Mr. Tarr was driving east on Road 214 about 5:45 a.m. when he came upon a stop sign at Road 23 and pulled into the path of the Brickner car, which was northbound on Road 23, sheriff s deputies said.

The cars collided in the intersection. The Brickner car then struck a power pole and the Tarr car caught fire.

Mr. Tarr was cited for failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, deputies said.

Arcadia is about 40 miles south of Toledo.
