5/26/2008

Edward Pawlinski and members of his family applaud outside his Swanton Township home as a Marine Corps color guard raises a U.S. flag that has flown over the Capitol Building. Because Mr. Pawlinski surrounded, from left, by his daughters, Rebecca Johnson and Robin Chavalier; his wife, Betty; and his son, Michael was wounded during battle in the Korean War, he was awarded his diploma from Swanton High School just two months ago, and members of his family arranged for the flag presentation yesterday after having the 30-foot-tall flagpole erected in his yard.
