FREMONT - A Florida man was in serious condition yesterday in a hospital in Toledo, a day after he was hurt when the motorcycle he was riding and a car collided on State Rt. 19 at Thomas Road just north of Fremont in Sandusky County, authorities said.

Theodore Wise, 51, of Miami, the motorcyclist who was not wearing a helmet, was being treated at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center.

The Wise motorcycle was northbound on Route 19 in Sandusky Township at about 10:10 p.m. Tuesday when a car driven south on the state route by Robin Armentrout, 44, of Fremont, started to turn left onto eastbound Thomas and drove into the path of the motorcycle. The two vehicles collided head on, throwing the motorcyclist off the bike, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

The car driver, who had no passengers, was not hurt, troopers said.
