ARCHBOLD, Ohio - Three people were hurt seriously yesterday when one driver ran a stop sign and two minivans collided on U.S. 20A and Fulton County Road 19 in German Township, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Fred Mikesell, 61 of Sylvania was flown to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, where he was admitted in serious condition, a hospital spokesman said.

The other driver, James Warncke, 66, and his passenger, Joann Warncke, 61, both of Wauseon, were flown to University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio Hospital. Troopers said both were in serious condition.

Mr. Mikesell was northbound on County Road 19 about 3 p.m. when he failed to halt at the stop sign at U.S. 20A and struck Mr. Warncke's eastbound vehicle. Mr. Warncke's minivan then struck a utility pole, troopers said.
