The body of a 70-year-old man was found floating in Swan Creek about 2:30 p.m. Saturday, less than a mile from where his car plunged down a 100-foot embankment into the water, authorities said.

The man, a resident of Creekside Village, near City Park Avenue and the Anthony Wayne Trail, was not immediately identified by authorities.

The man was likely backing away from his home when he accidentally drove over the edge, Steve Kahle, an investigator for the Lucas County Coroner s Office, said.

An autopsy will be performed Sunday by the Lucas County Coroner s Office.
