The 43-year-old man found floating in the Maumee River near the One Maritime Plaza office building on Tuesday died late Thursday in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, authorities said.

An autopsy performed yesterday on Lawrence Goodman, whose address was withheld by police, revealed evidence of a partial drowning and heart disease, Dr. James Patrick, Lucas County coroner, said.

A ruling on the cause of death is pending the results of toxicology tests, Dr. Patrick said.

U.S. Coast Guard personnel and Toledo firefighters were sent to the area about 9:15 a.m. after people in the building reported seeing a body in the water, police said.

Mr. Lawrence was pulled from the water about 15 minutes later near the northwest pillar of the Martin Luther King, Jr., Bridge and taken to the docks at International Park, where firefighters performed CPR on him.
