Maumee woman killed when car collides with TARTA bus

A Maumee woman was killed when a TARTA bus and a car collided early Thursday afternoon on the city line in south Toledo, authorities said.

Laura Kusz, 43, the car driver who had no passengers, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred about 12:50 p.m. at South Holland Sylvania Road at Henthorne Drive.

James Gee, the transit authority s general manager, said the southbound car lost control on a curve near Henthorne Drive and spun out of control into the path of a northbound bus, which struck it broadside on the passenger side.

Two of three passengers on the bus suffered minor injuries and the driver was "shook up," Mr. Gee said.
