Motorcyclist pronounced dead after crash in Monroe

MONROE -- A motorcyclist was pronounced dead after a collision with a pickup Thursday evening in Monroe.

The motorcycle was traveling west on West Seventh Street at South Telegraph Road, according to Monroe police. The pickup was eastbound on West Seventh and attempted to turn left onto northbound South Telegraph, police said. The motorcycle and the truck collided in the intersection about 8:10 p.m.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at Mercy Memorial Hospital, Monroe.

Police did not immediately release names of any of those involved but said both drivers were men and there were no passengers.

Police are seeking more information about the crash. Witnesses are asked to call Cpl. Daryl Tamsen at 734-243-7500.
