Sylvania schools levy fails by more than 500 votes
5/7/2014Sylvania schools request for a 3.8-mill, continuous operating levy was denied by voters Tuesday.
Final, unofficial results released about 4 a.m. today showed the levy failing with 4,864 "no" votes to 4,357 "yes" votes -- a difference of more than 500 votes.
The operating levy would have raised about $4.9 million a year and cost the owner of a $100,000 house $133 a year.
