The Genoa girls basketball team won Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, at Rossford 75-44 to clinch an outright Northern Buckeye Conference title. It is the first girls league basketball crown for the Comets since winning one in the former Suburban Lakes League in 2008, and it is the first NBC championship for Genoa in any girls sport. Four Maumee High School students sat around a table at the Toledo Area Humane Society Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016, making treats for dogs. Audrey Osstifin, Bailey Zientek, Shayna Dickey, and Danny Agullana from the school’s multiple-disabilities classroom work every Thursday to help with the animals’ enrichment activities.
