John Eikost with his #ToledoLovesGloves donation box at the corner of 12th and Adams, adjacent to the iconic "Toledo Loves Love" uptown mural. Mr. Eikhost originally misread the “Toledo Loves Love” wall when it was painted two years ago. But, he had an idea to help keep Toledo’s less fortunate warm. He persuaded the mural artists to also paint the bin, and now it has sat helping for two winters.

The tug boat Josephine carries Santa Claus and more than a dozen Christmas trees down the Maumee Saturday, November 29, 2014, on its way to the National Museum of the Great Lakes along the Maumee River in East Toledo. The Josephine carried Santa's sleigh and more than a dozen Christmas trees, which were unloaded and sold to the crowd of more than 50 in attendance. The event was held in the spirit of 19th and early 20th century schooners who would make their final run of the season delivering Christmas trees. After Santa had disembarked he and Mrs. Claus went into the museum to visit with children.
