July 31, 2003-- An emotional Kieu Trac remembers the day in 1967 when he saw his father fall dead in a rice paddy in the Song Ve Valley of Vietnam. Trac and his family continue to work the same fields every day.

July 31, 2003-- A devout Buddhist, Tam Hau prays at the unmarked grave of her uncle Dao Hue in the Song Ve Valley of Quang Ngai Province, Vietnam. Tam Hau and her nephew Bui Quang Truong retrieved the body of her uncle, killed by Tiger Force members, and buried it here in 1967.

July 31, 2003-- As an infant Nguyen Thi Que was thrown in a bunker with her murdered mother in 1967. Today, living and working in the Song Ve Valley, Quang Ngai Province, Vietnam, she has no memories of her mother but the pain is still lingers.

July 31, 2003-- As the sun falls behind the mountains, and light fades from the Song Ve Valley, Nguyen Thi Que continues to weed her cornfield. As an infant Nguyen Thi Que was thrown in a bunker with her murdered mother in 1967. Today, living and working in the valley, located in Quang Ngai Province, Vietnam, she has no memories of her mother but the pain is still lingers.

July 31, 2003-- Nguyen Hong Dien was a Viet Cong soldier hunted by Tiger Force in 1967 in the Song Ve Valley, Quang Ngai Province, Vietnam. Unable to capture him, Tiger Force members killed his wife Le Thi Thuong in a bunker and left his infant daughter Nguyen Thi Que in with the body.

July 31, 2003-- Surrounded by grandchildren, Ha Thi Quy quiety discusses how she survived being shot multiple times at My Lai on March 16 ,1968. 504 villagers in the Quang Ngai Province were killed on that day. Still living nearby, Ha Thi Quy visits the site daily to pick up firewood.

July 31, 2003-- Tourists swim in the South China Sea near a fishing boat as the sun rises near Hoi An, south of Danang. The Vietnamese prefer to swim early in the morning, avoiding the heat and sun of the day. By 9am the beach was empty.
