A man and a woman from Curtice were arrested yesterday and charged with robbing a Toledo bank and attempting to rob another last month, the FBI said.

William Tinsley III, 20, and Jamie Lahey, 19, who were being held in the Lucas County jail, were charged with the Oct. 20 robbery of the Charter One Bank branch at 5072 Monroe St., and the Oct. 22 attempted robbery of the Huntington National Bank branch at 3031 West Central Ave., FBI Agent Lou Genide said.

Mr. Tinsley is accused of fleeing with an undisclosed amount of money on Oct. 20 after giving a teller a note demanding cash and indicating he had a weapon. In the attempted robbery two days later, Mr. Tinsley is accused of passing a demand note to a teller, but, for unknown reasons, he aborted the attempt and fled, Agent Genide said.

Ms. Lahey is suspected of being a driver in both robberies, he said.

Both suspects will make initial appearances today before U.S. Magistrate Vernelis Armstrong, Agent Genide said.
