Defendants to be called as witnesses

12/5/2000

OAK HARBOR - Defendants in the case of a witness who was shot by a hit man will be tried separately.

Christy Claussen, 40, of Gibsonburg, will go on trial Feb. 13 in Sandusky County Common Pleas Court on a charge of complicity to commit murder.

She's accused of hiring Tyrias Johnson, 25, of Fremont, to shoot Jarrod Skinner, who was expected to testify against her in a drug trial. Mr. Johnson, charged with attempted murder, would be scheduled for trial after a pretrial hearing on Dec. 14.

Another defendant, James Miller, 46, will go on trial Feb. 7. The three will be tried separately so they can be called as witnesses in co-defendants' trials.

Mr. Skinner survived.
