Center asks 9,000 for suggestions

More than 9,000 questionnaires have been mailed to people who have dealings with The Ability Center of Greater Toledo to determine what improvements might be made in the organization.

Tim Harrington, executive director, said the mailing had no particular impetus, “but this is something business does all the time.

“It's been some time since we really talked to the community,” Mr. Harrington said, adding that the returned forms will be discussed by people involved with the Ability Center as well as with representatives from other local agencies.

The results, he said, aren't expected to reshape The Ability Center, but will “give us a fresh look at what our customers expect.”

He said the surveys were mailed to customers, volunteers, and others who have had contact with the agency.

The 15-page questionnaire asks questions about housing needs, availability of recreation, employment and transportation, and other factors.

The Ability Center, 5605 Monroe St., Sylvania, operates a satellite, office in Defiance. The agency has about 30 employees and provides services to about 3,000 annually.
