Lima man resentenced in March arson, robbery

9/28/2001

LIMA, Ohio — A local man convicted of firebombing a house, killing a woman and four children, was resentenced yesterday to 10 years in prison for aggravated arson and aggravated robbery.

A life sentence Michael Wright, 23, received for five counts of aggravated murder still stands. A three-judge panel sentenced Wright last year to life in prison without parole, but an appeals court found that Judge Jeffrey Reed erred when he alone sentenced Wright on the remaining charges. The three-judge panel was ordered to resentence him on those.

Wright was one of 10 men convicted in connection with the March 29, 2000, arson that killed Marian Wright, 33, her two children, Marquis, 16, and Marshonda, 13, and her fiance's two children, Rodnina Bunley, 17, and Ravis Bunley, 14.
