Man gets 21 years in prison for robbery

1/15/2002

TIFFIN - A Youngstown man was sentenced yesterday to 21 years in prison for the July robbery of a Tiffin antique store.

David Pishok, 47, was sentenced to nine years in prison for aggravated robbery, seven years for complicity to robbery, three years for tampering with evidence, and two years for having weapons while under disability, Seneca County Prosecutor Ken Egbert, Jr., said.

Judge Steve Shuff of Seneca County Common Pleas Court ordered the sentences for those counts to be served consecutively, or one after the other. In addition, Pishok was given concurrent 11-month terms for possessing criminal tools, carrying a concealed weapon, and safecracking.

Mr. Egbert said the convictions will lead Pishok to be prosecuted for previous criminal convictions in Marion and Mahoning counties, resulting in up to 40 additional years in prison.

Pishok held up The Gallery antique store on Riverside Drive on July 16, 2001, with Debra Howe, 45, also of Youngstown.

Police arrested the pair a short time later and recovered stolen property. Howe pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 16 years in prison for her role.
