SANDUSKY - A Huron, Ohio, man has been ordered to spend three years in prison for molesting a 10-year-old boy.
James Hofmann, 67, was sentenced Thursday on two counts of gross sexual imposition by visiting Judge Joseph Cirigliano in Erie County Common Pleas Court. Judge Cirigliano sentenced Hofmann, a former publisher of the Sandusky Register, to three years on each count, to be served concurrently.
Hofmann could have received up to five years on each count, and special prosecutor Dean Holman had asked the judge to sentence Hofmann to seven years.
