Taft sent bill adding Henry County judge

COLUMBUS - The Ohio House yesterday sent Gov. Bob Taft a bill adding a second judge to the Henry County Common Pleas Court bench.

The new judge, to preside over domestic relations and juvenile cases, would cost county and state taxpayers $170,000 a year in salary and benefits for the new jurist and staff. The position would be filled at the polls in November, 2004.

Henry is one of just six counties that still have a single judge.
