Salespeople outnumber shoppers early on the first day of business at the first Wal-Mart store inside the city of Toledo. Snow and cold weather yesterday apparently were the reasons for the sparse turnout at the new location, on Glendale Avenue near the Medical College of Ohio, but crowds jammed the store later in the day. The bad weather also apparently kept away protesters. Pickets showed up for the openings of the metro Toledo area's first two stores.
