West Toledo firm to add 74 jobs in expansion

1/28/2005

Mayor Jack Ford yesterday announced the expansion of a West Toledo business that plans to add 74 new jobs over three years, and retain five existing jobs.

The company, CIMIT of Ohio, or Consultants in Medical Information Technology, maintains patient records on a database and provides pathology consultations on outpatient laboratory results.

The company, owned by Dr. F. Michael Walsh, a local pathologist, is renovating a building at 3170 West Central Ave., Westgate Meadows Shopping Center.

The city of Toledo provided a 40-percent municipal income tax credit worth $466,000 over 10 years, in return for a total investment of $3.6 million, Mr. Ford said.

The tax credit is based on a projected $5.9 million payroll after three years.

City Council approved the tax credit in July.
