Purse-snatcher gets 5 years imprisonment

FREMONT A Fremont man has been sentenced to five years in prison in connection with the theft of a woman s purse from her on a city street last year.

Reginald Heidelburg, 44, was given the maximum penalty for robbery, a third-degree felony, by Judge Harry Sargeant, Jr., during a hearing Monday in Sandusky County Common Pleas Court.

He also was ordered to make restitution of $401 to the victim.

Heidelburg pleaded guilty in exchange for prosecutors dropping other charges in unrelated cases, including three counts of theft and one count of burglary. According to Fremont police, Heidelburg stole the woman s purse on South Fifth Street on Feb. 26, 2004.
