FREMONT A Fremont man was sentenced yesterday to two years in prison for engaging in sexual conduct with a mentally handicapped woman last year.

Nicholas Hartman, 25, was given the prison term and classified as a sexually oriented offender by Judge James Sherck of Sandusky County Common Pleas Court. Hartman was convicted of sexual battery as part of a plea bargain that included the dismissal of rape and gross sexual imposition charges.

Authorities said Hartman had sexual conduct with the 35-year-old Fremont woman July 31, 2004.
