Defiance man sentenced to 10 years for slaying

DEFIANCE A Defiance man convicted for a slaying near a bar here was sentenced yesterday to the maximum 10 years in prison and ordered to pay $11,479 in restitution.

Isaac Ramos, 38, who also uses the name Isaac Urbina, pleaded guilty May 31 in Defiance County Common Pleas Court to involuntary manslaughter. Judge Joseph Schmenk imposed the sentence.

Ramos admitted striking Raul Padilla, 42, of Defiance on the face March 26 during a dispute outside the Wagon Wheel bar. An autopsy determined Mr. Padilla s neck was broken.
