Developers of the $125 million Shops at Fallen Timbers in Maumee are being sued for $1.7 million by a local group that helped attract them to the project.
Issac Land Investments Ltd. of Bryan claims in a lawsuit this week in U.S. District Court in Toledo that GGP LP part of mall developer General Growth Properties Inc. of Chicago agreed a decade ago to make the payment once it began construction of a shopping center with at least two anchor stores and other retail outlets.
It said General Growth began building its 109-acre lifestyle center on the site in November but has failed to make the payments despite demands. A General Growth spokesman said the firm hadn t seen the lawsuit and would have no comment.
