Ex-roommate is charged with Findlay murder

FINDLAY - A murdered Findlay man's former roommate has been charged with his murder after being arrested Friday in Tennessee on an unrelated warrant.

Joshua Fox, 30, who shared an apartment on East Sandusky Street with Jeffery Harmon, 38, waived extradition and was arraigned yesterday in Findlay Municipal Court on one count of murder. He was held in the Hancock County Justice Center in lieu of $1 million bond.

Investigators believe Mr. Harmon had been dead for "a few days" before his remains were found last Wednesday. An autopsy showed he had been stabbed to death.

Mr. Fox was arrested Friday in Rockford, Tenn., on a felony vehicle-theft warrant from Oscoda County, Michigan.

Detectives from the Findlay Police Department traveled to Rockford to interview Mr. Fox later Friday, and obtained an arrest warrant from Findlay Municipal Court on Saturday, charging him with Mr. Harmon's murder.

Findlay police Lt. Chuck Wilson said investigators believe Mr. Fox was allowing Mr. Harmon to stay in Mr. Fox's apartment.

"We located Harmon in the apartment and Fox wasn't there," Lieutenant Wilson said.

Lieutenant Wilson declined to say whether a murder weapon had been located or to reveal what evidence had linked Mr. Fox to the crime.

"It's still an active, ongoing investigation," he said. "We're continuing to interview people. There are other people we'd like to talk to."

Lieutenant Wilson said police received information last week that Mr. Fox might have gone to Tennessee, where he has relatives.

They learned of his outstanding Michigan warrant for grand theft of a motor vehicle, and worked with authorities in Michigan and Tennessee to find and arrest Mr. Fox on Friday.
