Woodward High student charged in dean s assault

An 18-year-old Woodward High School student was arraigned yesterday in Toledo Municipal Court on a felony charge after punching a dean of students during a fight with other teenagers at the north end school, authorities said.

Laquez Eduard Bradford of 129 East Central Ave. was charged with assault and violating the safe-school ordinance. He was being held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of $10,000 bond.

Mr. Bradford was involved in a large fight about 12:30 p.m. Monday in the lunchroom at the school, 600 East Streicher St., and punched the dean, Rob Slusser, in the mouth when Mr. Slusser and several community police officers tried to break up the fight, authorities said.
