A South Toledo man accused of leading police on a chase while driving a stolen sport utility vehicle Jan. 27 was indicted yesterday by a Lucas County grand jury.

Victor Allen, 24, of 1775 Buckingham St. was charged with failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer. He was being held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of $10,250 bond.

OnStar personnel notified a police dispatcher that a 2005 Cadillac Escalade SUV, which Fostoria police that day had reported stolen, was in Toledo. Police found the vehicle, followed the suspect, and arrested him after he ran from the vehicle, which became disabled when he drove over several curbs.

Allen originally was charged in Toledo Municipal Court with receiving stolen property, resisting arrest, and driving with no license. He pleaded not guilty yesterday to the resisting arrest and driving without a license charges.
