Richard Brown III, an associate pastor and former school board candidate, was given a suspended jail sentence Wednesday for allowing minor boys to view pornography and using e-mails to set up sexual encounters.

Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Linda Jennings placed Mr. Brown, 34, on probation for two years, ordered him to pay a $500 fine, and perform 100 hours of community service.

He was found guilty last month of one count of disseminating matter harmful to a juvenile and two counts of procuring.

Mr. Brown was a candidate for the Toledo school board, but withdrew from the race after being indicted.
