A 20-year-old Toledo man who crashed a sport utility vehicle into a Scottwood Avenue house on March 24 was sentenced in Lucas County Common Pleas Court yesterday to two years in prison by Judge James Jensen.

James Sanders of 2713 Fulton St., who was accused of fleeing police, pleaded no contest and was found guilty May 27 to one count of failure to comply.

Authorities said Sanders was stopped in the middle of Arcadia Avenue near Collingwood Boulevard, then drove off and went through a stop sign, and turned onto Scottwood as he was being pursued.

He crashed into a house at 3137 Scottwood and fled on foot across Detroit Avenue. He was arrested in the backyard of a house in the 3100 block of Glenwood Avenue.
