Owens Corning announced plans yesterday to install solar panels on the roof of its new Gresham, Ore., factory where 35 workers are to produce foam insulation starting in July, 2009.

It s an ongoing strategy and ongoing process to continually reduce our environmental impact, said Jason Saragian, a spokesman for the Toledo building products maker.
