An estimated 600 contractors are expected to work at BP s refinery in suburban Toledo over the next six weeks on two large pieces of equipment that were taken off-line for scheduled maintenance, a company spokesman said.

A 25,000-barrel-a-day re-former and a 35,000-barrel-a-day hydrocracker were shut down last week for maintenance. The Oregon plant will continue to operate normally, although neighbors could see increased flaring during the maintenance, which is scheduled to be completed by Sept. 6, the spokesman said.
