Greatest Show on Earth booked for new Toledo arena

Ladies and gentleman and children of all ages, how's this for an opening act?

The Greatest Show on Earth is one of the first events booked into the as-yet-unnamed downtown Toledo arena when it opens in the fall of 2009, the Lucas County commissioners are expected to announce today.

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus has been scheduled to play the arena Nov. 11-15, 2009.

The commissioners' announcement will take place on the top floor of the Port Lawrence parking garage, with Ringling Bros.' national ringmaster in attendance.
