Pull-A-Part asks to delay salvage yard application

Do-It-Yourself Pull-A-Part Used Auto Parts has requested a month deferral on its Toledo Plan Commission application to put a salvage yard and sales operation along South Westwood Avenue near the Norfolk Southern railroad tracks.

Steve Levetan, senior vice president, said the company needs time to resolve some development issues regarding the 19 -acre parcel between 310 and 400 South Westwood.

The hearing and vote on Pull-A-Part s proposal, originally scheduled for today, have been moved to the commission s Nov. 6 meeting.

The Westwood Avenue site would be the company s third attempt at a Toledo location since scrapping plans for branches at 671 Spencer St. and along South Avenue between Byrne and Wenz roads.

Atlanta-based Pull-A-Part stocks its yards with hundreds of used vehicles and charges customers to disassemble the parts they need.
